Former West Ham and QPR target Mathieu Valbuena has joined Russian outfit Dynamo Moscow for a reported €7million.
The 29-year-old midfielder had told his former club Marseille that he was ready for a new challenge and stated his plans to move on this summer.
His comments sparked a number of rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League, notably with the two London sides - although in the past he has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool.
After Valbuena starred at the World Cup this summer interest rose massively - with teams from across Europe inquiring as to his availability.
Both clubs, however, passed up the opportunity to take their reported interest further and Dynamo Moscow have taken full advantage, acquiring the player on a three-year deal.
"Dynamo have a very interesting project and I'm happy to be a part of it," Valbuena told Dynamo’s official website.
Dynamo president Boris Rotenberg couldn’t contain his delight at the signing, expressing: "We are hoping that his high class will help take the club to the next level."
Valbuena spent eight years at Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, making a total of 227 league appearances and helping the club win the French title in 2010.
