The 20-year-old completed his move to the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen earlier this summer and has featured heavily in pre-season for Brendan Rodgers' side.
If he isn't scoring overhead kicks in training, the versatile midfielder is adding value on the pitch during friendlies.
And Carragher, for one, has been impressed by Can, joking that the German 'should do well' while wearing the former Liverpool defender's old shirt.
The 36-year-old also praised Can's physicality, as well as his ability on the ball. A good blend if ever there was one.
Like the look of Can physical presence and looks good in possession he should do well wearing the 23!!— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) August 3, 2014
Can will now look ahead to Liverpool's International Champions Cup final against Manchester United, which takes place on Monday night.
The Reds booked their spot in the showpiece event with a 2-0 victory over AC Milan, after previously beating Manchester City on penalties and dispatching Olympiakos with a 1-0 win.
United also won all of their games, most recently beating Real Madrid 3-1.
Beyond pre-season, 20-year-old Can looks as though he will play a useful role for Rodgers, as he can play in defence, defensive midfield or in a more attacking position.
