The Ratchet & Clank and Sly Cooper games could have influenced a new cinema trend of video game movie adaptations!
As you may have heard over the past few months, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Uncharted and The Last of Us are all being developed into full movies and there are many other games that could potentially take influence from this new cinema style game revolution. Those who are fans of the franchises will get to re-experience these great games as feature films so they can sit back and relax whilst re-enjoying the lovable and very nostalgic experiences.
Now we won't be seeing some of these films for a while, Ratchet and Clank is set to release some time during 2015 with Sly Cooper potentially following the year after, however these announcements have certainly given fans a lot of hype for the cinema installments of some of their favorite game franchises.
Before we progress, here are the trailers for Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank.
Ratchet and Clank
We could potentially even see Jak and Daxter make an appearance on the cinema screen at some point, another one on Naughty Dog's great game franchises which has strong potential to be considered after Uncharted and The Last of Us have been released - even Sonic is getting his own TV series soon.
So we are seeing a lot of potential for other game companies to consider bringing their games to the big screen, as Resident Evil and Silent Hill were perfect examples of successfully integrated adaptations of games to the cinema screen, so perhaps this expansion of new genres making an appearance as featured movies will inspire other game companies to try similar ideas.
Will movie adaptations of video games become more popular in the future? Do you think this will influence other companies to experiment with movie adaptations?
