Arsenal's Emirates Cup match against Benfica proved a joy to watch for the Gunners faithful, with Yaya Sanogo making an emphatic statement for first-team inclusion next season and Joel Campbell netting following his return from Greece.
While much was also said and written about Arsenal's new recruits - Calum Chambers, Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy - it was a young defender who really caught the eye.
Hector Bellerin started the match at right-back and took the opportunity with both hands. He may only be 19, but the Spaniard proved to be every inch an Arsenal player as he refused to be undone by the occasion.
Debuchy may have been signed as the first-choice replacement for Bacary Sagna, but Chambers can also cover in that position, leaving questions over how much game-time Bellerin would see.
Well, until yesterday at least, with the teenager proving he deserves chances now. And given the amount of matches Arsenal look set to play next season, he will surely get them, with Chambers able to occupy other areas freeing up the substitute right-back spot for Bellerin.
After the match against Benfica, we took to Twitter to see what Arsenal fans thought of Bellerin's performance, and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Hector Bellerin looked more exciting in one pre-season game in attack than Sagna looked in 8 years. Hope he makes it here.— ChinglishNuts (@SimplyArseNuts) August 3, 2014
Joel Campbell and Hector Bellerin are ready to do a job as squad players this season, no doubt about it.— GoonRambler (@GoonRambler) August 3, 2014

Also, can we just talk about that performance from Hector Bellerin for a minute? It was awesome! #AFC— Sam Tighe (@stighefootball) August 2, 2014
Iv been in the Bellerin fan club since he joined! Just needs some weight sessions the the gym. #Bulk— Isaac Gallows (@IsaacGallows) August 2, 2014
Also interesting to see Bellerin play. Chambers in the CB position could mean he's 2nd in the RB spot (I would love it).— Spanish Gooner (@ElSpanishGooner) August 2, 2014
