This summer there has been plenty of interest in the services of versatile Chilean Mauricio Isla. The talented Juventus man was one of the stars of Chile's World Cup team and was said to be attracting interest from the Premier League.
Isla, who started his career as a midfielder, was being linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool. Capable of playing at right and left back he was perfect for Liverpool - as they have been seeking full-backs all summer. Meanwhile Arsenal needed a right-back to replace Bacary Sagna and Isla fitted the bill.
Newcastle United were also said keen along with teams from Italy, Spain and Russia - but we now knoe where this impressive 26-year-old utility man will be plying his trade next season.
QPR have seemingly snapped up the talent in a plucky coup. Reports were emerging yesterday that Harry Redknapp was keen on the player - with a potential loan deal on the cards.
Now the Italian side have confirmed it. Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta confirmed he is travelling to London for his medical tomorrow - after a deal was agreed in principle with the Loftus Road outfit.
“Tomorrow Isla will have his medical in England, as a deal has been reached with QPR.”
The deal is believed to be a season long loan with an option to buy at the end of the campaign at a set price of £8 million.
Will Isla fit in at QPR?
