Arsenal have defeated Benfica 5-1 and gave two players their debuts.
Arsenal delivered a ruthless and cutting edge display to destroy their Emirates Cup opponents Benfica this afternoon - with several players shining throughout. Yaya Sanogo scored four goals, Joel Campbell impressed and netted another while Aaron Ramsey was fantastic in midfield.
But while the result was great most fans were more excited about getting to see their newbies in action. Arsenal have been uncharacteristically early in their transfer business this summer - with Mathieu Debuchy, Callum Chambers, David Ospina and Alexis Sanchez all signing for the club in the past couple of months.
Chambers and Debuchy have essentially replaced Carl Jenkinson and Bacary Sagna - who went to West Ham on loan and Manchester City on a Bosman respectively.
Ospina has been brought in to add some depth to the goalkeeping area after Lukasz Fabianski took off - while Alexis, well why wouldn't you buy Alexis Sanchez if you had the chance?
Ospina has a thigh problem, so no debut for him today - however two others got the chance to show what they can do. Debuchy sat on the bench for the whole game but Chambers played the entire game and impressed in the heart of defence. Arsenal fans also got a glimpse of Alexis - who entered the game with 17 minutes remaining, and looked lively.
