Madrid have been in the United States on their pre-season tour, and even practiced some American Football.
The Real Madrid squad have been playing American Football in a bid to spice up their training sessions in the United States.
The squad took a break from the European version of the game to test their throwing and catching skills on Thursday.
The Madrid squad seemed to have better luck playing American Football than they’ve had so far in their profession this tour. The European Champions have lost both their matches to Roma and Inter Milan, and now face Manchester United in Michigan on Saturday night.
Star players Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo have now returned to training, along with new signing James Rodriguez following his extended break after the World Cup.
Other than Toni Kroos, only Angel Di Maria and Sami Khedira are now due to link back up with the squad, with both players set to arrive on Tuesday. Di Maria however has been rumoured to not be showing up to pre-season, as he looks to force a move away from the Bernabéu after feeling undervalued by Madrid.
The pictures of Real’s down time from yesterday though do suggest that the likes of Isco and Iker Casillas are happy at the club. Both have been linked with moves to the Premier League this summer, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal reportedly chasing their signatures.
Madrid’s season begins in under 11 days’ time, as they prepare to face La Liga opponents Sevilla in the SuperCup final in Cardiff, before continuing their mission for a six-trophy haul.
