Liverpool transfer news: Two clubs monitoring defender; blow in Argentine chase

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

The Express reports that Liverpool could be dealt a blow in their reported pursuit of Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Paris Saint-Germain player reportedly favour a move to Juventus should – as expected – Angel Di Maria arrive in the French capital either on loan or on a permanent basis.

Lavezzi has been linked with Liverpool for some time, but if the latest report is true Brendan Rodgers may have to look elsewhere if he wishes to continue strengthening his squad this summer.

In other news, the Daily Mail reports that both Barcelona and Brondby are monitoring the situation of Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger.

The Danish international could leave the Reds this summer following the arrival of Dejan Lovren, who is expected to form a new defensive partnership with Mamadou Sakho.

Brondby may be a surprise potential suitor but the report claims they are hoping to attract Agger back to the club where he grew up.
