Luis Suarez was "practically unplayable" throughout his final season at Liverpool, writes Joey Barton on his official website.
The Queens Park Rangers midfielder broke down some of the candidates for whom he believes represent the signings of the summer and credits Suarez, as well as five other players, to be worthy of that honour.
The Englishman, 31, claimed that "the two best defensive signings went to QPR", before underlining his eagerness at playing in front of a central defence partnership that consists of Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker.
Suarez to Barcelona and Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea to Everton constitute the two best attacking acquisitions.
He argued: "[Lukaku] didn’t have a spectacular World Cup [but] he didn’t fancy playing the odd League Cup game at Chelsea.
"He knocked in 15 goals on loan for them last season and was a big part of their success, and the attractive and stylish way they played. With 20.55% of his shots going in he was more accurate than Suarez, he chipped in with six assists and because of his height he comes back into the box for corners and helped out with 18 clearances.
"He’s still only 21 years old so he has the ability to become a great player and a huge asset for Everton."
Barton also noted Toni Kroos' switch from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid, James Rodriguez's high-profile exit from AS Monaco to Real and Francesc Fabregas and Diego Costa to Chelsea were also all strong buys.
