Arsenal transfer news: Campbell to be scouted v Benfica; Quintero a no-go

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium.

News now on Joel Campbell's future as AC Milan have appeared to make room for the player. They have sold one of their non-EU players - as Ivorian Bende Donald Bende has joined Hungarian side Honved.

Reports in Italy are now suggesting that a scouting mission is on for Campbell - with the Rossoneri set to watch him in action for The Gunners against Benfica this weekend at The Emirates Cup.

Arsenal could be interested in loaning the player to Serie A.

Last night saw reports in Colombia claim that Arsenal were on the verge of signing Colombian international playmaker Juan Quintero from FC Porto.

The young midfielder was said to be flying into London to complete a £15.8 million move to The Emirates.

However his agent has now spoken about the rumours - insisting that the reports are far from accurate.

Ricardo Calleri stated:

“Porto never talked to negotiate Juan Quintero. There are clubs interested, there is much interest in the player, the clubs in Spain and England, but to leave would be one willing to pay the termination clause of the club.”

That clause is set at £31 million - a fee Arsenal are unlikely to pay for an unproven commodity.

Last night saw Carl Jenkinson leave Arsenal for West Ham on a season long loan deal.

The England international saw his standing in the Gunners squad plummet this summer with the arrivals of Mathieu Debuchy and Callum Chambers - so has sought first team football at Upton Park.

Arsenal are being linked with a very unlikely move for Real Madrid right-back Alvaro Arbeloa. The Spanish international, a former Liverpool player, is potentially available for sale this summer.

However, as mentioned above, Arsenal have just signed two new right backs, the arrival of another seems far from likely.

Arbeloa has lost his place in the Real starting XI to Dani Carvajal.
