£37m man reveals Van Gaal's first Manchester United message

Juan Mata has revealed Louis van Gaal's very first message in training.

Juan Mata has been speaking about Louis van Gaal's very first message to the Manchester United team when he arrived.

The Spaniard told ManUtd.com, that the former Netherlands boss forewarned that adapting to his system will not be straightforward.

He said: "The first thing the manager told us in pre-season training was that the first three months of this season would be hard, because we had to change our mind-sets and understand what he was trying to do, and there was a new system as well.

“It will take time to fully adapt but, in the meantime, we are doing our best."

The £37 million signing from Chelsea went onto praise Van Gaal's ideas, and his excitement at the fluid tactics th coach wants to instill, and says he is enjoying working and learning under him.

Van Gaal's comments suggest that despite his authoritative confidence, there is a real concern in his mind that his players will not instantly take to his methods.

The fact he has not rushed into the transfer market, illustrates he is willing to be patient, but also is pleased so far at the progress of the players.

The good news for United, is that their early fixture list is far kinder to them than the one they were dealt last season, and by time the tougher games come their way, the Red Devils may just hit top gear.
