Gael Kakuta completes Rayo Vallecano move

Stamford Bridge Outside

Chelsea have announced the departure of Gael Kakuta, who leaves Stamford Bridge to join Rayo Vallecano on a season-long loan.

Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta has been sent out on loan again this season, with the club announcing that he is set to join Rayo Vallecano on loan.

The creative midfielder was once considered one of the top talents across the world, but he has never established himself as a star at Stamford Bridge and he has had to go elsewhere to find first team football once again this year.

Kakuta joins the La Liga side on a season-long loan and he will be hoping that he can impress in the Spanish top flight.

The 23-year-old has already had a large number of temporary moves away from Chelsea since his transfer went through in 2009.

Back then he was considered Chelea’s biggest prospect, but he has gone on to only make six appearances for the London club and his time at Stamford Bridge looks as if it is coming to an end.

His move to Rayo is his sixth loan spell away from the club after previous spells at Fulham, Bolton, Dijon, Vitesse and Lazio as he experiences life in plenty of different countries.

This will be his first time playing in Spain and he will be hoping that the league, which often allows flair players to flourish, is a good place for him to develop.

Rayo finished in 12th place in La Liga last season and they will be looking to build on that solid platform in this campaign.
