Evra: I came to Juventus to win trophies

New Juventus defender Patrice Evra has stressed his desire to win silverware for his new club after joining this summer.

Patrice Evra is set to join his new Juventus teammates after moving from Manchester United and he has set his objectives for the season.

The French international's contract expired at Old Trafford after eight years with the club and it seemed that Juventus would snap him up as a free agent.

But things became more complicated when Juventus took too long to make their move and Evra signed a new deal with Manchester United.

In the end, Juventus came to an agreement with the Premier League side and Evra has flown in to Turin to join the Italian champions on a two-year deal after his holiday in Los Angeles

"This is like destiny for me because at the age of 17 it was Italy that opened the door for me to become the player I am," Evra told JTV quoted by Tuttosport.

"I am happy, it was my fate to come back and this is a dream for me.

"The feeling of being here at Juventus is incredible. It is the start of a new adventure.

"I've come from a club like Manchester United where I won everything and now I am here at Juventus where I have won nothing yet.

"I don't sell dreams, but I like to win and I have chosen Juventus to win. I will give everything for the club, the fans and my teammates.

"I promise that I will do my all to thank you all with performances on the pitch rather than words. Forza Juventus! Let's win lots of trophies."

Evra signed his first professional contract in Italy with Serie C side Marsala before moving to Monza and then making his name in France ahead of joining Manchester United.
