Assassin’s Creed Unity and Far Cry 4 prices are rather steep on Steam

Two of this year’s biggest game releases are now up for pre-order on PC gaming platform, Steam - but watch that price tag.

Normally a new triple-A game would appear on Steam for around £40, maximum, but Ubisoft’s two biggest titles this year, Assassin's Creed Unity and Far Cry 4, will set you back £49.99 each.

This price tag is pretty ridiculous when you consider that in the US the games are up for pre-order at $59.99, meaning in the UK at current exchange rates the price would be just over £35, which is more reasonable. The actual price tag of £49.99 would equate to $85 in the US - I’m sure any readers from across the pond wouldn’t like to pay that much.

Pre-ordering the games nets you exclusive DLC and, of course, there are ‘Gold’ editions of the games, which come with extras at an increased price of £64.99 (discounted from the usual £69.99).

Assassin’s Creed Unity (pre-order here) is due for release on 28th October for PS4, Xbox One and PC, and Far Cry 4 (pre-order here) is due on 18th November for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
