The free games on offer for PS3, PS4 and Vita in August are out, with two games apiece for each along with additional bonus games as cross-buys. Also of note in is that two games on offer are brand new to PlayStation platforms in August.
PS4 will be getting a pair of Indie titles. Phil Fish’s indie smash Fez with its twisty-turny, 2D/3D, cubist puzzle-platforming will be coming as will the brand new snowbound, roguelike puzzler Road not Taken from Spry Fox, the creators of the popular mobile game Triple Town.
There’s two quite different first person games in store for PS3. Crysis 3, which arrived just last year continues Crytek’s famous series with some impressive graphics and the open world exploration game Proteus takes you on a tour of a retro-ish, dream-like island.
Vita gamers state-side will be able to pick up Vanillaware's beautiful 2D RPG Dragon’s Crown and in Europe Lego Harry Potter: Years 5–7 will be available. Both regions will also get the Infographics based platformer Metrico, another new title and Vita exclusive.
Some of the games on offer will be available on multople systems, meaning extra games for some. Fez is due for PS3, PS4 and Vita and Proteus will be available for PS3 and Vita. According to comments on the PlayStation blog Dragon's Crown will also be available for both PS3 and Vita even though the game doesn’t have cross-buy support.
