"We are ready."
That was the message from Arturo Vidal on his official Twitter account after he returned to pre-season training with Juventus.
The smiling Chilean looked every inch at home as he posed for a photograph with some of his current teammates, suggesting that all the quotes from both the player and officials at the club about him being happy there ring true.
Of course the picture alone does not rule out the possibility of Vidal leaving Turin this summer. But at the same time, players set for exits rarely pose for group photos and make declarations of intent for the matches to come if they are planning on hightailing it out of there.
The rumours will continue for some time to come, despite Vidal's new manager Massimiliano Allegri suggesting the player was going nowhere, shortly after reports in Chile claimed there was a verbal agreement in place for the player to move to United.
But those rumours will only persist because United are in desperate need of a player like Vidal. How likely it is that they will get the real thing is another question entirely.
