PHOTO: Spurs star Adebayor back in training after malaria scare

Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor looks to have recovered from the illness that caused him to sit out the club's recent tour.

Emmanuel Adebayor seems to be full of beans after his recent bout of malaria.

Given that last season's top scorer has returned to training, alongside the club's World Cup stars, it looks as if Mauricio Pochettino has finally gotten round to meeting all of Tottenham's squad,

The Togo international striker missed the club's tour of North America after coming down with a bout of "mild malaria" just days before the squad departed.

The 30-year-old spent a few days in hospital before being told to rest for a week to get his strength back.

Judging by the picture above, he's already back to a decent level of fitness, as the ex Real Madrid loanee is seen matching fleet footed youngster Ryan Fredericks as he runs with the ball, while Pochettino observes his players.

Adebayor hit an impressive 14 goals in just 25 games last season, after starting the campaign frozen out of the first team picture under Andre Villas-Boas. His renaissance under Tim Sherwood proved that he was still one of the division's top strikers, and given continuing doubts about Roberto Soldado's ability to offer a similar level of influence, the Tottenham number ten is sure to be an important figure under the club's new head coach.
