Manchester United could double Vidal’s wages

The latest reports in Italy suggest that Manchester United are ready to double Arturo Vidal's salary if he is willing to leave Juventus.

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal continues to be linked with Manchester United and momentum seems to be shifting towards a move.

Vidal was one of the most exciting players in Serie A last season and played a vital role in helping Juventus secure the Italian title.

Over the last few months, the Chilean international has been repeatedly tipped to join Manchester United despite Juventus insisting that he isn't for sale.

It is being suggested that Manchester United have tabled an offer and could put down a sum that Juventus are unable to refuse.

And according to Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Vidal could be in line for a massive salary increase if he agrees to make the switch.

"The player earns half at Juventus compared to what Manchester United would pay him," Pedullà said on SportItalia.

"There is also confirmation from Chile that Manchester United have made an offer for Vidal and they would be willing to give him a salary of £6.3 million per year plus bonuses.

"We will have to watch what happens over the next couple of days and who plays a part in Juventus's pre-season competitions."

Manchester United may have to bid close to £50 million to persuade Juventus to relinquish their grip on Vidal, according to Italian sources.
