One of the stars of the World Cup with Switzerland is reportedly focused on club-level football with Bayern Munich in the latest Liverpool transfer news.
The brother of a summer-long target for Liverpool, Xherdan Shaqiri, has ruled out a transfer and reaffirmed a desire to break into the regular first-team set-up at Bayern Munich.
Renowned German publication Bild ran a story claiming that negotiations between the Bundesliga powerhouse and resurgent Premier League outfit had ceased - "negotiations had stopped" - while Earth Shaqiri underlined that further by remarking on the good relations between Shaqiri and Bayern.
Earth Shaqiri said: "Currently [there are] not find any discussions with other clubs instead. Our first contact is with Bayern and we have put talks with another club [Liverpool] on ice."
He continued: "We were told clearly by those in charge at Bayern that Xherdan has a good standing but it remains to be seen how the next conversation with the person in charge of Bayern will transpire before an optimal solution can be found."
Perhaps there needs to be dialogue with manager Pep Guardiola before the future of Xherdan can be fully resolved.
