Simpsons-Family Guy crossover episode trailer aired at Comic-Con

SimpsonsFamily Guy

Info for both series also revealed at the event including a tease of the upcoming Simpsons character death

The Simpsons and Family Guy are set to collide in an upcoming episode to air on September 28th. A trailer showcased at Comic-Con shows approximately five minutes of “The Simpsons Guy” mash up episode which can be viewed below. The trailer finds the Griffins stuck in Springfield where Peter reminds the family not to drink the water as, "Everybody around here looks like they have hepatitis." The two families begin to interact, with Bart introducing Stewie to prank calls (Stewie misunderstanding the premise a little) and Peter and Homer eating donuts together.

An argument over Pawtucket Patriot Ale and Duff Beer leads to comments that allude to the relationship between the two series. Peter’s Patriot Ale said by Homer to be, "a lousy rip-off of Duff." is defended by the Griffin patriarch with the words, "It may have been inspired by Duff, but I like to think it goes in a different direction." Also be on the look-out for references to Bob’s Burgers and The Cleveland Show.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly it was also revealed that Jesus will be returning to Quahog for a Christmas special and that Liam Neeson will be playing himself in an upcoming Family Guy episode.

The same evening that “The Simpsons Guy” debuts the new Simpsons season premier will air in which a major character will be killed off. Entitled "Clown in the Dumps," it seems plausible that Krusty is the target, although a new tease showing Homer bed-stricken with illness shrouds a little doubt on this theory.

In the run-up to the new Simpsons season FXX will be showing all 552 exisiting Simpsons espisodes in a 12 day marathon set to start on August 21st.
