Marco Reus has been included in the Borussia Dortmund squad flying out to Switzerland for the next leg of their pre-season training campaign despite intense speculation over his future.
Reus is reported to have turned down a new contract offer at BVB, keen to secure a higher pay deal which has created speculation that he could be on his way from Dortmund next summer.
Reus is closing in on a return to competitive action for Dortmund after the ankle injury, which saw him ruled out of Germany’s successful World Cup campaign.
Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all among the clubs reportedly ready to pounce for the midfielder but this is further evidence that he’s fully in Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the new Bundesliga season.
It will be interesting to see if BVB give in to Reus’ personal demands over the course of the campaign to prevent another world class player from leaving Jurgen Klopp’s team.
