Following on from Calum Chambers's transfer to Arsenal, a core group to Liverpool and Luke Shaw to Manchester United, a Tottenham Hotspur target has spoken.
A project that was six years in the making, something that represented an "amazing journey" taking Southampton out of League One, into the Championship and then finally to an eighth position in the Premier League, has "been destroyed in one hour" according to Saints midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, 24.
Five key members of the senior squad including Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren (Liverpool), Luke Shaw (Manchester United) and Calum Chambers (Arsenal) have all been sold and, while the fees involved have not been officially disclosed, the South Coast club are believed to have made £75 million.
Manager Ronald Koeman made light of the situation recently when he uploaded a photograph of an empty training ground and remarked that he was looking forward to beginning work and now, Tuesday, Schneiderlin has hit out.

Is Schneiderlin, who joined the club from Strasbourg in 2008 and has been a fundamental first-team player throughout their journey through three divisions in English football, next to be sold?
The player - along with Jay Rodriguez - has been linked with a £27 million move to Tottenham Hotspur.
However, according to reports, Schneiderlin's online outburst is projected at the club over a breakdown in discussions with Spurs rather than because of mass player sales at a Saints project six years in the making.
