Manchester City latest: Player vows to show ‘real’ him; winger on tough 18 months

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic has been speaking about his hopes for next season.

In quotes published by Goal, the Serbian frontman said, “I have the manager’s confidence and I feel stronger. I hope now the City fans will see the real Jovetic.

“Last year I played well when I was fit. This year, hopefully when I have a good preparation with the team, it’s going to be a different story.”

That will be music to Manuel Pellegrini’s ears as the City boss prepares to begin the campaign without the injured Alvaro Negredo.

With a season under his belt, Jovetic could well shine having been the subject of much speculation in recent times.

In other news, Scott Sinclair has been speaking about his recent past admitting that the last year and a half have been the toughest of his career.

In quotes published by the Daily Mail, the City winger said, “As a player you’ve got to go through the tough times and the last 18 months have been a very, very tough time for me.”

He went on to reveal that this pre-season is vital as he looks to prepare for the coming campaign…wherever he may be playing.

“I feel great and hopefully now I can get more minutes and be ready for the season to see what happens,” Sinclair added.

And finally, Manchester City have previewed their upcoming EDS match on their official website.

Patrick Vieira’s side will take on FC Nurnberg on Wednesday evening, after the club slipped to an admirable if disappointing 2-1 defeat to a Bayern Munich side made up of under-23 players on Monday.
