Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has told new signing Luke Shaw to work on his fitness.
"He is OK, but I am always a trainer-coach who sees individuals and what they need. He needs to be fit and is not very fit and fit enough to do what I want. He needs to train individually until he is fit," stated the boss.
Van Gaal also believes he has inherited a ‘broken’ squad at Old Trafford following David Moyes into the position, suggesting his task would have been easier if he had taken over from Sir Alex Ferguson.
In transfer news, United have reportedly held talks with Napoli over the potential exit of Marouane Fellaini as the Belgian midfielder, signed by David Moyes last summer, weighs up his options.
Shinji Kagawa is also being ‘assessed’ with regard to his future at the Red Devils’ with the Independent suggesting van Gaal will make decisions imminently over whether or not to sanction and exit fort the Japanese attacker.
This comes as United target Arturo Vidal says he is ‘ready’ for the new season with Juventus where he looks increasingly likely to remain, despite interest from the Red Devils.
