Emmanuel Emenike not listening to speculation about his future

The striker who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester City in recent times says he is happy in Turkey.

Reported Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester City target Emmanuel Emenike says he is ignoring the speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League and is fully focused on playing for Fenerbache.

The Nigerian front-man, who represented his nation at the World Cup over the summer, has reportedly attracted the attention of some of England’s biggest clubs but appears to be happy to stay in Turkey.

The striker, who bagged 12 times in the Turkish top flight last season, says that he is determined to better that tally this time around and that he is concentrating on the job in hand with his current club rather than listening to rumours.

“For now, I can’t say much on transfers because I am still on holidays and my mind is with Fenerbahce," Emenike said.

"When I return to Turkey, I will know if there is any official approach, but for now I want to try and relax and prepare well for the pre-season.

“Like I said, I am happy in Istanbul. I am not desperate for any move away from Fenerbahce. I am only hoping for a better season than what I did in the past season with Fenerbahce.

"But if there were official offers then my club will be responsible. They have the final say, I am only preparing for a better season because I am respecting my contract with Fenerbahce.”

Emineke joined Fenerbahce from Spartak Moscow last summer, but reports suggest that a bid of around €20 million could be enough to tempt the Turkish giants to allow him to leave.

With a powerful figure and blistering pace, Emineke’s game seems suited to the Premier League and he would certainly have no trouble adapting to the physicality of England’s top flight.

He was impressive at the World Cup, too, where his performances against Bosnia and Herzegovina was particularly eye-catching.

Whether any of City, Chelsea or Tottenham will step up their alleged interest remains to be seen. But if they do it seems that they will have a struggle to convince him to move away from his current club.
