Chelsea transfer news: Mourinho forced to sell Torres? Lavezzi bid from rivals

Fernando Torres

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Chelsea.

The Daily Telegraph claims Jose Mourinho is desperate to offload striker Fernando Torres.

Torres has pledged to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place in the team following the arrival of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid.

However, the Blues’s current squad exceeds the foreign player limit quota, which could see Torres axed.

The Daily Star claims Liverpool will go head-to-head with Chelsea to sign Ezequiel Lavezzi from PSG.

The Argentine has been strongly linked with the Blues but Marca claims Liverpool could make an £18 million offer to the French champions.

Both sides already have several players who play predominantly in Lavezzi’s position.

Aston Villa and West Brom are thought to be battling over a loan deal for Chelsea winger Victor Moses.

Moses is set for his second season on loan away from the club following a spell at Liverpool last year.

West Brom were thought to be in the driving seat but Villa reportedly see him as a better option than Christian Atsu.
