Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal has become one of the hottest properties on the market this summer with a number of clubs taking an interest.
Manchester United, despite signing midfielder Ander Herrera, are amongst those leading the race for his signature and are said to be willing to break their transfer record in order to get him.
According to the Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Red Devils are said to have proposed an offer of €60million to Arturo Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich ahead of scheduled talks with the club tonight.
“Fernando Felicevich, the agent of Arturo Vidal, arrives tonight and has a number of offers to present Juventus. The most important it seems is that of Manchester United who are willing to guarantee Juventus €60million for the midfielder.” The report claims.
United currently have a number of midfielders currently on the books and adding Vidal would suggest that Louis Van Gaal may need to offload one or two.
Despite the Old Trafford outfit being midfield heavy, there are still a number of question marks over the quality needed to compete at the top level and bringing in the Juventus man would certainly go some way to rectifying that.
The report goes on to say that the 27-year-old is happy to stay in Turin but would like his wages increasing to €8million a year – the same amount which United are said to have proposed.
The Old Lady may struggle to offer such an amount, and this can only help the Premier League side in their quest to sign the star.
Vidal was one of the best midfielders in Serie A last season, scoring 11 goals and assisting a further five in 28 league starts.
