Catalans have been using state of the art facilities to prepare for the new La Liga season.
Barcelona have arrived in England and begun training at St George’s Park as part of their pre-season schedule.
The Catalans flew in on Monday to use the state of the art facilities based in Burton, where they will train until Friday.
Luis Enrique’s men will then head to Nice for a friendly against the French outfit, before travelling to Napoli and Helsinki for further fixtures.
St George’s Park is the landmark of a new era for English football, where grass roots coaching and facilities hope to change the shape of the game within a decade. And today certainly saw a few names that the FA would be proud of producing by 2022.
The likes of Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, Pedro and Sergio Busquets all trained at St George’s, along with Xavi, who has decided to stay at Barcelona after considering his future this summer.
The Spanish giants are still awaiting a few star players to return from their extended breaks. Lionel Messi will return in early August having guided Argentina to the World Cup final in Brazil this summer, while Neymar Jr is still recovering from a back injury sustained in the tournament.
New signing Luis Suarez will also not play until the end of October following his biting antics in Brazil, and must conduct his own personal training while the ban is being served.
Barcelona are looking to bounce back from their first trophy-less season in recent years, and could still bring in a few names following key departures such as Cesc Fabregas, Carlos Puyol and Alexis Sanchez.
