Real Madrid boss Ancelotti has dismissed speculation about the Argentine’s future at the club.
Di Maria is currently on an extended break after he helped Argentina reach the World Cup final in Brazil, but has been the subject of intense transfer speculation.
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have both been linked with a move for the Madrid winger, but Ancelotti says Di Maria must return to training on August 5.
“I have not heard about it. Di Maria know as well as the others. He finished the World Cup and on August 5 must be in Valdebebas." Ancelotti is reported as saying in AS.
But the report suggests that the Argentine will not return to training, and says an agreement with PSG is already in place. It also claims that Ancelotti is resisting the demands of both the player and the club in order to keep Di Maria.
Real Madrid supposedly do not want to pass up the opportunity to land €75million for the midfielder, while Di Maria himself has not felt valued by the Bernabéu club and wishes to leave.
Other reports have claimed that Madrid are looking to sell the likes of Di Maria to help balance the books following the signings of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez.
The club splashed out in excess of €80 million to sign the duo, and could now look to offload Sami Khedira and Isco to fund further signings.
The question of an additional striker still remains after Alvaro Morata’s exit leaves Karim Benzema as the only out-and-out striker, with the European Champions thought to be monitoring Romelu Lukaku and Radamel Falcao as potential replacements.
