Earlier this week Chelsea sprung something of a surprise, by bringing club legend Didier Drogba back to Stamford Bridge. The Ivorian had left the club in 2012 - after scoring the winning penalty in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
He left for an ill-fated spell in China with Shanghai Shenhua before spending 18 months in Turkey with Galatasaray. But his contract in Istanbul has come to an end - and he was a free agent as a consequence.
Jose Mourinho, who has seen Demba Ba and Samuel Eto'o depart this summer, has jumped at the chance to bring in a player who he first spent £24 million on in July 2004.
Now a decade on he returns to partner the likes of Diego Costa and either Fernando Torres or Romelu Lukaku in the striking department this upcoming season.
Now, after finalising the deal, Chelsea FC have documented his arrival in Slovenia to watch his 'new' team in action, and shake hands with Jose Mourinho once again - a decade on from when he originally signed the 36-year-old.
Drogba was even snapped shaking hands with his boss before taking in a 2-1 Chelsea win. Drogba was all smiles, Chelsea fans will hope that is here to stay.
Can Drogba be a hit again?
