Liverpool finalised the signing of Dejan Lovren on Sunday, and the Croatian international is thrilled to have made it.
Lovren almost immediately sent out a message on Twitter, expressing his delight at completing his much discussed transfer from Southampton.
Saints fans are themselves unimpressed with the way Lovren has conducted himself in pushing for a move, but the defender's passion to play for Liverpool is clearly a factor the Reds should embrace.
Lovren has an enthusiasm which shines through, and elaborated in his first interview with the club:
"I'm a player that will give 100 per cent and I want to show that to the supporters because they deserve to see players who give 100 per cent.
"I know it is going to be something special to play in front of the fans at Anfield and I can't wait."
Lovren is Liverpool's first defensive signing of the summer, and the £20 million fee the highest they have ever played for a defender.
Importantly for the club, Lovren has experience of playing in the Champions League, making 12 appearances for Lyon including playing four times against Real Madrid.
If his enthusiasm manifests itself on the pitch in a positive manner, Lovren's fee will be money well spent, and the 25-year-old will go onto be a hero for years to come.
