Liverpool are trying to tie up plenty of deals at the moment to help offset the loss of star striker Luis Suarez. One such player they are looking at is Loic Remy.
The QPR forward, who spent the last season on loan at Newcastle United, travelled to Boston before the weekend in order to undergo a medical ahead of a move to the club.
Remy was therefore set to sign a deal which would see see him arriving from Loftus Road on a £8.5 million deal.
But the move was seen fall into trouble this morning, as Harry Redknapp noted that the deal should be done - and he had no reason to explain just why exactly the deal had not yet gone through.
Now we know why, as Liverpool have officially canned the deal after Remy failed a medical. The French international striker will therefore need to find another move.
So far no reason has been give for the medical failure, however rumours already suggest that it could once again be a cardiac issue.
Remy failed a medical because of heart issues before joining Marseille in 2010 - although was eventually given the all clear.
However other reports are now suggesting it is a knee problem.
