Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen and Tottenham Hotspur's Jan Vertonghen are reportedly among Barcelona's final shortlist of transfer targets.
The Catalan giants are looking to sign another defender in this transfer window after already completing a £15million move for Valencia's Jeremy Mathieu.
Marquinhos is said to be the club's top target, but with PSG demanding a fee in the region of €42million for the Brazilian it is unlikely that Barcelona will be able to strike a deal.
The Premier League pair are more realistic options. Sport claims that Vertonghen wishes to leave Spurs after missing out on a Champions League spot again last season, and an offer of around €22million would be enough to convince Spurs to sell.
Vermaelen, meanwhile, has fallen out of favour at the Emirates over the past two seasons with the emergence of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny as Arsene Wenger's preferred pairing in defence. The Belgian has also been linked to a move to Manchester United.

Vermaelen and Vertonghen would be far more cost effective options for Barcelona, which would certainly appeal to the Catalan club.
They have already spent over €145million euros in this transfer window on deals for Mathieu, Luis Suarez, Claudio Bravo, Ivan Rakitic and Alen Halilovic. Although they recouped some of that by selling Alexis Sanchez and Cesc Fabregas, another €40million outlay may be a step too far this summer.
