Manchester United finally saw their flop attacker Bebe leave the club this week - but he has certainly not gone to a flop destination.
Bebe has been snapped up by SL Benfica for a fee of up to £2.4 million as a potential replacement for Liverpool's recent £20 million recruit Lazar Markovic.
The 24-year-old had an excellent second half of last season on loan at Pacos Ferreira and it seems that the Portuguese champions were impressed with his displays for the relegation threatened side enough to snap him up.
Bebe was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson for £7.4 million in 2010 in a sensational transfer - not least because Sir Alex Ferguson had to admit he had never seen him play and his transfer was at the recommendation of Carlos Quieroz.
However Bebe never looked like making the grade with the club and had loan-spells with Besiktas and Rio Ave - with injury and discipline problems also an issue throughout that time.
But now this Manchester United dud is looking forward to a bright future with one of the biggest teams in Europe. He posed for photographs yesterday and despite never truly hitting it off with the United faithful it is doubtful any of them would begrudge this man a decent career at the Estadio da Luz.
