Inter to offer former Moyes target in exchange for Manchester United outcast - report

According to speculation in Italy today, Inter Milan will offer up Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin in exchange for Javier Hernandez.

Manchester United are undergoing a new revolution at Old Trafford this summer, as manager Louis van Gaal looks to erase all memory of the dismal David Moyes era. With Southampton left back Luke Shaw and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera already snapped up, the Red Devils are now set to hit the transfer market again in order to give van Gaal some new recruits.

Yet whilst the Moyes era is well and truly over, the club could still look to bring someone that the former Everton boss was interested in signing.

Serie A side Inter Milan have already landed ex-United skipper Nemanja Vidic this summer as Walter Mazzarri looks to improve on a fifth place finish last season, but the Serbian has already recommended that Inter should sign his former team mate Javier Hernandez, with the Mexican behind Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order.

And now, Mazzarri could be set to heed his advice after speculation suggested that Inter had made their first move to sign Hernandez - by offering up Colombian international Fredy Guarin in exchange.

The 28-year-old was a primary target for Moyes in January as he looked to improve the central midfield options at Old Trafford, but no deal could be reached. Now with Inter having Yann M'Vila, Hernanes, Mateo Kovacic fighting for spots in central midfield, they seem willing to let Guarin leave the club this summer - and are hopeful that United's interest remains despite the change in management.

With Guarin's power combined with Herrera's composure and skill could be an ideal combination for United, but this would be some come down from the pursuit of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal - even if Hernandez does seem set for the Old Trafford exit door.
