The first official look at Tracy Island for the upcoming Thunderbirds Are Go remake has come out of Comic-Con
Gerry Anderson’s classic animated series Thunderbirds is being brought back to the telly. Celebrating 50 years since Thunderbirds first aired a rebooted series entitled Thunderbirds Are Go is in production at ITV set to launch in 2015.
A image of how Tracy Island is going to look has been revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con during the Thunderbirds SDCC panel.
While the famous moving swimming pool and spacecraft hangers remain hidden the exotic palm-treed location hits the spot.
In a departure from the traditional ‘Supermarionation’ techniques Thunderbirds Are Go will be made using a combination of CGI and live-action model sets in place of the famous wobbly puppets.
David Graham, the original voice actor for Lady Penelope’s butler Parker will be making a comeback for the series with Sylvia Anderson’s voice role for Penelope taken up by Rosamund Pike. (Miranda Frost in the 007 film Die Another Day)
Purely for nostalgia purposes we have included the original opening theme to Thunderbirds, remember watching this as a kid?
More oldies but goodies.
