Theo Walcott put on some football boots today, as he continues to step up his recovery from injury.
Today saw Arsene Wenger talking up the importance of their £35 million newbie Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean, who arrived from Barcelona earlier this month, comes off the back of an impressive display at the World Cup with his country - and has many an Arsenal fan extremely excited for the upcoming season.
Wenger also revealed today how he feels Sanchez can offer Arsenal something they do not have in the absence of Theo Walcott.
The English attacker was one of the few Arsenal players who were happy to run beyond the defence, into the spaces behind, and add real penetration to the Arsenal team.
Of course Walcott has now been out of action for a while. He suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in January during a FA Cup win against North London rivals Tottenham.
He was immediately ruled out of the World Cup upon the injury and is now expected to return to full training by the end of August.
But today marked a big day in the recovery of any football player, the day you can put football boots on again for the first time. Walcott has stayed at London Colney while his team-mates enjoy New York as part of their pre-season tour. In that time he has been working on his fitness and conditioning - but he finally got to pull a pair of boots on today, ditching the trainers, and sharing the news via his official Twitter account...
