Tottenham latest: Pochettino hints at Rose stay, centre-back wanted

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino appears to have hinted that Danny Rose could stay at the club according to quotes from London 24.

It was said the recent signing of Ben Davies from Swansea City could spell the end of Rose's time at White Hart Lane, but Pochettino seems intent of having both left-backs at the club.

He said: “The season is very long and we need to stay deep at every position.

“Ben Davies is important for us because he’s good competition for Danny Rose on the left side.

“He’s a young player, but he has good experience in the Premier League.”

Tottenham have been linked for much of the summer with Real Sociedad's Antoine Griezmann according to TalkSport.

The Frenchman has been linked with Arsenal as well during this window, but now La Liga Champions Atletico Madrid have also entered the running according to the report.

The Daily Mail have done a summary of all Premier League clubs in the transfer window so far and there are a couple of things to note.

They have said that Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin would prefer a move to White Hart Lane to join up with Pochettino rather than head to North London rivals Arsenal, whilst a centre-back is said to be a role part of the squad that needs strengthening.

Spurs have announced the appointment of former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough defender Ugo Ehiogu as their under-21 coach.

Ehiogu had previously been working with the club's academy on a part-time basis.
