Yesterday, Crystal Palace confirmed the signing of Cardiff City striker Frazier Campbell. Here's how Twitter reacted to the deal.
Palace triggered Campbell's release clause, believed to be around £900,000, before offering the one-time England international a reported three-year contract, worth around £35,000-per-week.
The 26-year-old arrives at Selhurst Park following an 18-month spell in south Wales, during which he scored eight crucial goals in the final months of the 2013 promotion campaign and made a significant contribution throughout the club's return to the Premier League.
He scored on six occasions in 37 appearances, whilst recording a further two assists. His brace in the memorable 3-2 win over Manchester City will be cherished by many, for years to come.
Campbell becomes only the club's second signing of the summer, with Blackpool goalkeeper Chris Kettings the only permanent arrival thus far. However, it is likely manager Tony Pulis will be looking to step up the Eagles' transfer activity in coming weeks, in order to build on the side's impressive league effort last campaign.
Here's how both sets of fans reacted to the switch:
All the best to @FraizerCampbell with us for a short time but you leave us with some great memories.— Ben Price -CCP (@thebenprice) July 24, 2014
£900k is a great price for Fraizer Campbell considering some of the fees being paid at the moment. Good signing for Palace.— Ryan Forrester (@RyanJoForrester) July 24, 2014
