All the latest summer transfer news from La Liga...
Atletico Madrid enjoyed a stunning season under Diego Simeone last term, winning their first La Liga title in almost 20 years and reaching the Champions League final too, only to be beaten by cross-city rivals Real Madrid. Now, Simeone has seen his side ripped apart as goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, left back Filipe Luis and striker Diego Costa will all be playing for Chelsea next season, whilst forwards David Villa and Adrian have also been allowed to leave the club.
It's therefore no surprise that Simeone is looking to bring in another striker, despite landing Bayern Munich's Mario Mandzukic earlier this month. The player in question is Manchester United's Javier Hernandez, with reports speculating that the out-of-favour Mexican is in talks with Atletico over a move after Louis van Gaal gave his blessing to the deal.
Meanwhile, Valencia's spending continues as former Bolton Wanderers striker Rodrigo Moreno has arrived from Benfica, following Porto defender Nicolas Otamendi, Racing Club midfielder Rodrigo de Paul and former Benfica team mate Andre Gomes to the Mestalla.
"I’m very happy to be here and represent the club. I want to return to Valencia to their rightful place," said Moreno. "My signing was complicated due to circumstances beyond both mine and Valencia’s control and I was very excited to come here, train with my new teammates and start to integrate myself with the team. I have been keeping my fitness by training in the hotel’s gym since Monday."
Elsewhere, Real Madrid may have already landed Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez for a total of around £80m, but Carlo Ancelotti's side look set to spend again. Goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who starred for Costa Rica at the World Cup this summer, has reportedly agreed terms over a €10m move from Levante, with the 27-year-old set to sign a five-year deal at the Bernabeu.
