Controversial former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez has urged Arturo Vidal to stay with Juventus.
Tevez, who left United for rivals Manchester City in 2009, signed for Juventus last summer and was part of a Serie A title winning side alongside Vidal.
Vidal has been linked heavily with a summer switch to Manchester United, but Tevez has given his perspective on the subject.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Tevez told reporters, per Gazzetta dello Sport:
"Vidal is a phenomenon, a great champion. I hope he stays here with us, he must not go away from Juve."
It would be a surprise if Tevez had said any different, but whether Juventus listen to his words is another matter.
The Italian champions have made comments to the effect they do not want to sell, but a huge offer could tempt them.
At a crucial time for the club, with Allegri taking over from Antonio Conte, knowing that last season's 19-goal striker will be upset at Vidal's sale, will only be one more reason not to accept United's bid.
