Attacking asset Andros Townsend, 23, believes there are few defences in the Premier League that are superior to the new-look rearguard that Queens Park Rangers are now sporting thanks to the dual acquisitions of Steven Caulker and Rio Ferdinand.
The Tottenham Hotspur winger, who completed 68 dribbles from 12 Premier League starts last term, (13 as a bench/ 25 in total), said: "Steven Caulker and Rio Ferdinand in the same team! [There are] not many centre back partnerships better than that - wow!"
Last season, Arsenal's axis consisting of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker produced a solid defence whenever they weren't playing one of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea, whilst the latter's partnership of Gary Cahill and John Terry produced the fewest concessions out of all Premier League defenders (27 after 38 games).

Considering Ferdinand's enhancing age, is he the man to provide an elite-level partnership to Caulker?
