Arsenal have announced the sale of young German prospect Thomas Eisfeld, and there will be one player more surprised than most.
French centre-back Laurent Koscielny had named Eisfeld as Arsenal's breakthrough star of 2014/15, in an interview published on Arsenal's website just two weeks ago.
He said: "The big star for the next season would be… I don't know, err. Oh la la! Thomas Eisfeld. He's played well with the reserves. He's played some friendlies with us and scored some goals. If he works hard in training with us in the first team then he could be in the squad for the next season."
His prediction now looks as bad as anybody who would have tipped England to win the World Cup, with Eisfeld sold to Fulham instead.
The sale is a shame from an Arsenal perspective regarding a player who had impressed in limited showings for the first team in pre-season, and scoring in the Capital One Cup last season.
A loan switch may have made more sense, but at 21, Eisfeld needs to progress and knowing he has the security at Fulham and chance to play regularly he simply would not have had at Arsenal can only be good for his development in the short-term.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, in the same interview, had tipped the trio of Chuba Akpom, Serge Gnabry and Gedion Zelalem to all make their mark.
Do you think the Arsenal players will be shocked at Eisfeld's sale?
