A poll on the website of Catalan based newspaper Mundo Deportivo has revealed that Barcelona fans want the club to try and sign Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund.
Several reports over the last couple of days have suggested that Manchester United are trying to do a deal for Hummels, with some claiming that a fee had been agreed with BVB.
Of those that took part, 55% of Barca supporters wanted the club to sign Hummels with Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen the closest to him on 16% of the vote.
Following Vertonghen was another Manchester United target, Daley Blind, who drew 12% of the votes from those who took part.
However, for Barcelona and Manchester United, Jurgen Klopp has delivered a clear message that he doesn’t expect his key defender to leave BVB this summer, which echoes recent comments from Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Hummels is a highly sought after player following his performances for Germany in a World Cup winning side, which makes him all the more priceless to Klopp ahead of next season.
