Chelsea transfer news: Jose's first lesson for new recruit? Training video and more

Stamford Bridge Outside

All the latest Chelsea transfer news and rumours, including Jose Mourinho's instruction to Diego Costa, Tiago's rejection and more.

According to a Daily Mail report, Jose Mourinho may well have been giving new recruit Diego Costa his first lesson as a Blue in only their second training session together.

During training earlier today, Tuesday, the pair were frequently seen together as the Portuguese coach offered instruction to the Brazil-born Spaniard.

Currently in Austria and working out of their Walderana base, Mourinho is reportedly doing all he can to ensure that Costa - a feared, physically-imposing penalty-box predator - does not become another expensive striking failure akin to erstwhile big-money purchases such as Andriy Shevchenko and Fernando Torres.

Here is a glimpse of the team - including other acquisitions such as Francesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis - training…

Elsewhere, midfield veteran Tiago Mendes, who formerly represented Chelsea, has seemingly rejected Blue overtures to return to Stamford Bridge in order to reaffirm his allegiance to the Vicente Calderon club, who won La Liga last term.

Kenneth Omeruo will link up with Middlesbrough again, as confirmed by Aitor Karanka.

And finally, Frank Lampard has lost considerable support amid his prospective move to MLS franchise New York City. A local newspaper re-told the story of how he 'mocked 9/11' and it has not gone down well with readers.
