Reports from Belgium – and now backed up from sources in England – claim Everton are on the verge of completing a deal for David Henen.
The 18-year-old forward is currently on the books at Anderlecht and had previously been tipped for a €1.5million move to Arsenal. However, Belgian football journalist Sven Claes claimed early on Tuesday morning that Henen was in fact on his way to Goodison Park.
Claes has since gone on to claim that Henen completed his medical at Everton on Monday and that he will wear the number 39 at the Toffees.
And backing up the claims further, Tony Barrett of the Times has now gone on record to say Henen was at Everton’s training ground Finch Farm on Monday and looks set to move to Merseyside having previously attracted interest from the Gunners.
If the deal does go through, Roberto Martinez will have signed an extremely exciting young talent who has previously drawn comparisons with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
Henen has scored 14 goals in 17 games for Belgium at a variety of age-ranges and it would be interesting to see how he would ultimately link up with George Green if he does arrive as is being suggested.
