Arsenal fans think the club need another striker, contradicting comments from Arsene Wenger.
A poll on Goal.com suggests Arsenal fans believe Arsene Wenger is wrong with comments that the club don’t need another striker ahead of next season.
The Frenchman said he’s looking to improve other areas of his first team squad, but another addition up front is not a priority.
“Up front we don’t need any more, maybe I will still bring in one centre-back. I will bring in a goalkeeper for sure and we are still out there to strengthen our squad,” said Wenger.
The poll asked Arsenal fans a straight up question; Do Arsenal need to sign a striker this summer? Yes or no.
At the time of writing, a staggering 71.6% of those who have taken part said the Gunners were short up front while 28.4% said they were satisfied.
Based on Wenger’s comments, Olivier Giroud is likely to be the club’s sole striker this coming season supported by attacking players from other positions.
Alexis Sanchez proved at the World Cup that he can play centrally, Lukas Podolski has played as a centre forward in his career and playing as a striker is something Theo Walcott has expressed a desire to do.
There are options, but the fans would prefer to see another big name signing snapped up before next season starts.
