The recent bout of gorgeous weather and lack of new game releases has seen a drop in overall game sales.
It seems we’ve hit the Summer slump in the video games world, purely in new release terms anyway. With the rare British heat wave we’ve been having recently, and the lack of new titles hitting the shops the market has dropped down 10% in units overall and 14% in value across all platforms through last week.
It’s been left to many of the previously-released games to battle it out in the charts. We’ve got many non-movers this week, with Titanfall still top of the list and Wolfenstein, Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, and Assassin’s Creed IV retaining their places. CoD: Ghosts, FIFA 14 and Forza Motorsport 5 have crept up. On the other side of that we see WW2 shooter Sniper Elite 3 and EA Sports UFC drop down in the chart standings.
