Tottenham prioritise Antoine Griezmann
Tottenham are prioritising Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann as their marquee signing this summer, report The Telegraph. The paper report that Spurs are ready to bid £25 million, but may have to act fast as Ligue 1 side Monaco are keen on the French international. Monaco are also seeking to make a splash with their sale of James Rodriguez to Real Madrid imminent. The Telegraph also report Chelsea are interested, while Arsenal have previously been linked to the La Liga star.
Jurgen Klopp dismisses Hummels - United rumours
Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed rumours suggesting defender Mats Hummels is close to signing for Manchester United.
Klopp was interviewed by German media outlet RuhrNachrichten, and declared he did not expect either Hummels or Marco Reus to leave the club.
Spanish newspaper Sport had claimed on Monday that the Red Devils had made progress in talks with Dortmund and hoped to tie up a deal this week. Klopp also mocked the proposed price of £16 million as 'garbage'.
Manchester City want Drogba?!
The Star report Manchester City are considering a surprise move to sign 36-year-old Didier Drogba. The Ivorian is currently considering his offers, which include a return to former side Chelsea. Manuel Pellegrini is said to want Drogba as a stop-gap up front with Alvaro Negredo ruled out for three months with a metatarsal injury.
Tiago re-signs with Atletico
Chelsea will not be signing free agent Tiago Mendes, as had been strongly rumoured. The Portuguese midfielder has re-signed a deal with Atletico Madrid, despite leaving them last month. Tiago told Atletico's website that he considered other offers but had evaluated that a return to the club was his best option.
Chelsea in Lovren chase?
Liverpool's expected capture of Dejan Lovren could be complicated by late interest from Chelsea. Newspaper the Surrey Mirror report that Jose Mourinho is aiming to hijack the move for the Southampton defender, citing reports from his native Croatia. Chelsea have loaned out centre-backs Tomas Kalas and Kenneth Omeruo, and Lovren would fit their 'win now' mentality for the coming season. Liverpool are still however considered to be in pole position after the defender declared last month he desired to move to the Merseysiders.
