Juventus and Inter in fight for Jovetic

Inter have reportedly been trying to lure Stevan Jovetic for some time but they may now have competition from Juventus.

Juventus may derail Serie A rivals Inter's attempts to sign Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic by launching their own move.

Jovetic made his name in Italy with Fiorentina where he scored 35 goals in 115 appearances between 2008 and 2013.

The 24-year-old's efforts brought him to the attention of Manchester City, who paid £22 million for him last summer.

Despite winning a Premier League title, Jovetic's 2013-14 campaign wasn't a great success as he only played 13 times, finding the net on three occasions.

It has been suggested that Jovetic may be surplus to requirements in Manchester and Inter have been chasing him for a while.

Inter are looking to add to their offensive ranks after a disappointing season and after being warned off Jovetic's teammate Edin Dzeko, appear to be considering a move for the Montenegrin international.

But, according to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, Juventus have now started to take an interest in Jovetic and approached the player's agent Fali Ramadani.

Juventus have already closed a deal for Alvaro Morata, but they are still looking for new recruits to give them a shot at the Champions League next season.

Inter may struggle to compete because they can only offer Europa League football next season.

Both clubs would probably look to take Jovetic on loan with the option of making the deal permanent next summer.
